West Indies Entrance Channel and Terminal Berth Deepening Support Services
Lally LLC assisted a leading marine contractor with environmental protection and dredge optimization services at a bauxite terminal berth and entrance channel deepening project in the British West Indies. Like much of our marine infrastructure work in CARICOM, this capital works dredging project necessitated marine construction activities near sensitive coral reef habitat which required protection.
Stringent water quality controls and monitoring were required by the Ministry of Land, Environment and Climate Change. Lally personnel assisted the contractor with delivery and implementation of a water quality monitoring program offshore and inshore adjacent to a channel and berth deepening project. We also provided diver-engineer, underwater inspection and geotechnical advisory services on site to support optimization of mechanical dredging operations.
